The Secret to Strong Hair is Sulfur
Recently I went to Idaho to visit my boyfriend’s aunt for Thanksgiving. We went to Miracle Hot Springs and it was so relaxing. The healing properties of hot springs are amazing. The water is heated underground and because it comes from under the Earth it contains a lot of minerals, which are so important for the body. We don’t get enough minerals in our diet, which I mentioned in my last newsletter, which you can read on my website.
What are minerals? Minerals come from the rocks and soil and are essential for our bodies to be healthy and to function properly. Some examples are calcium, magnesium and sulfur. For example, magnesium is needed to run over 300 processes in the body from blinking an eye to beating the heart. Furthermore, we don’t get enough minerals in our diet. Minerals come from foods like dark leafy greens. And we all know, including me, to eat more dark leafy greens.
The cool thing about hot springs is that the water is full of minerals. You are not drinking the water, but you are soaking in it and we absorb things through our skin. All the minerals in the hot springs are getting into your body because you are absorbing them through your skin. The hot water is not only relaxing your muscles, but the magnesium in the water is too.
Have you ever wondered why hot springs smell like farts? It’s because of sulfur and this mineral is not talked about enough. Did you know that your hair is made mostly of sulfur bonds? Sulfur is important for your hair, skin, ligaments and DNA. That’s a lot of important things, especially for women who love their hair. The secret to strong hair lies in sulfur, not healthy fats. Most people think healthy fats are the only thing that will make their hair healthy. The more sulfur you absorb, the stronger, healthier, and more beautiful your hair will be.
